Makeup Tricks to Cover Up Your Under-Eye Circles

It’s just one of those days. You look in the mirror and despite downing the huge cup of coffee with an extra espresso shot this morning, you’re looking a little worse for wear. You feel awake, but to everyone else, those dark circles under your eyes are screaming for some beauty rest.

But as much as you want to fall back into bed and sleep for the rest of the week, you’ve got responsibilities to take care of. Try out these makeup tricks to keep you looking as awake as you feel!

 

Don’t be afraid to use color

It may seem daunting to swipe bright orange underneath your eyes, but it works wonders once you pat your favorite foundation on top. The orangey-yellow undertones cancel out the purple under your eyes. If you’re in a pinch, using lipstick (with a light hand) under your eyes will also work as well. Use orange-toned lipsticks for lighter tones and red-toned lipsticks for darker tones.

 

Invest in a high-quality concealer.

If playing around with color isn’t really your thing, try using a lighter concealer that is opaque enough to mask the discoloration. Whiten and brighten your waterline

Korean beauty gurus use white eyeliner on their bottom waterline to widen their eyes, but it also creates the illusion of looking awake and alert. Gently pull down your lower eyelid with your ring finger and put a few swipes of white eyeliner on the waterline.
