After lying low for the past couple of years, American designer Calvin Klein recently made a major comeback with his first and only coffee table book. Titled with his own name—would you expect anything less—Klein’s new book celebrates the designer’s scandalously alluring fashion campaigns over the years.

Toeing the line between raunchy and Haute, the 480-page book contains 330 risqué shots of Klein’s favorite editorial and advertising campaigns. Legendary photographers include Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Patrick Demarchelier, and Bruce Weber. Klein adorns each carefully selected photo with his own commentary explaining his decisions at the time.

Supermodel Kate Moss appears to be a favorite as she is featured heavily in the book. According to an interview with Beautopia in 1998, her androgynous childlike looks in the ‘90s were exactly what Klein wanted to push the envelope. It’s also fascinating to see a new generation of supermodels such as Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid rise to the scene as you flip through the book. Klein’s style is simply timeless.

The book is divided into three sections, representing the iconic elements of Klein’s approach to fashion. The second section, Minimalist, is dedicated to simplified elegance, which is popular today.
